In Memorium

Chickahsa to McAlester OK. We had rap for tomorrow this evening. At that time we were told about the untimely passing of one of our own. Darrell Keefer did not come to breakfast. He was found in his room by our ride leader Mike after our departure today. His son, daughter in law and grandson had been to the motel to visit with him last night. He was so proud of them. We are saddened.

Deepest sympathy to Darrell's family and friends. The spirit of the rider lives on in the wind and in the hearts and thoughts of all those who loved him. Take good care of each other. Peace.

I learned of Darrell's passing only a few hours ago. I am a friend and co-worker of his. He was a great guy with a great sense of humor. I last saw him about a week ago when he and his wife passed my house on their bikes. I was always impressed with his accomplishments in the biking world. He was a good friend and a great truck driver. He'll be missed.

Let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star, and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life. ~John Muir ehdez
